What are the main reasons for innovation failures and success in education?

 Reasons for innovation failure in education:

-Lack of finance assistance to purchase or build up facilities

-be deficient in innovation consciousness

-not have enough or professional professor

-need sufficient teachers and students training

-complicated maintenance, modification, diversity

-no unified standard

-defective operation mechanism and management system

Reasons for innovation success in education:

-strong technical support, robust equipment platform

-acknowledged and understood by most staff include students and teachers

-adapt to changing environment

-effective management with uniform criteria/policy

-plentiful information

Avoid/reduce failure and support innovation:

- strengthen innovation consciousness, willing to innovate

-build up uniform management policy and optimal strategies

-keep maintenance, face to change, make adoption when situation revolutionize or improve

-get teachers, students and professors fully involved

-provide sufficient users training on both usage and thinking styles

-integrate inside materials with outside information/circumstance

Success factors for innovations in the case:

-Teachers’ cooperation

-The flexibility of the teachers to adopt and adjust the activity plan of the project

-Teachers’ understanding and appreciation of project-based learning to students’ development

-Careful and detailed planning and preparation

-Teacher’s pedagogical competence in facilitating students’ project work

-Teacher’s competence in motivating students

-ICT resources in school

-Students’ ICT competence

Challenges:

-inappropriately use of online information, misleading by online resources

-no unified standard for evaluation

-pressure from students (obstacle to use computers, stress to bring in income, etc)
