Week 2 Course Reflection --- HU Jiani (Janey)

 Designing a new learning online---Does it have RASE?

The video showed us a innovative new learning environment . Our group choose the case CN001 to analysis. This case has a topic----MY POCKET MONEY. 
According to the RASE Pedagogical Model, we can analysis as following:

1.To the "R" part ---- "R" means "resources", including learning objects, multimedia material,web content, tools,real-time teaching,textbooks and so on. In this case, the designers made a best use of innovative technology resources . Such as word processor,web page/multimedia production tool,internet browser and search engines,data analysis software,media capture equipment and the like,which is very abundant.




2.To the "A" part----"A" means "activity",including problem solving,inquiry,project work,collaborative task. In this case,students were very active.They were required to do data gathering and processing, analyze and to draw conclusion from data,search for information,do presentation of own learning,reflect on own learning , discuss in groups and do group task. It was good to cultivate the quality of thinking about things adequately and spirit of group corporation.

3.To the "S" part----"S" means "support ",including social network,email, forums,Q&A,chat and other synchronous tools. Refer to this case,teachers offered more support than the usual in structure way.As it is a open internet platform,they are not only give advices in real-time teaching,but also connect with students through the Internet. They monitor students' task progression,support enquiry process for students,support team building and collaborative process of students,and liaise with parties outside school. This kind of supports is reliable and responsible for me.


4.To the "E" part----"E" means "evaluation",including portfolios,online presentation and reports. As there were students from different countries,different backgrounds and different cultures in this case,it is quite complicated to do the evaluation. Some students were proficient to do e-learning or e-portfolios,but some were prefer to the writing reports. According to my knowledge ,since the culture ,the economic environment,the background,and the religions are all have so many differences all over the world,the evaluation part is the most difficult part to handle.
