The main reasons for innovation success in education
1. Preliminary Analysis
Most projects only focus on the design of a
innovative pedagogy and process. But the fundamental analysis about the
learners, the learning and teaching environment ,the culture are always ignored.
2. A long-term plan
Innovation in education need a long-term plan . It
should be durable and detail. Problems and possible questions should be anticipated and decide the method to solve. A back-up plan is also needed.
3. Adjustment of the process
There are many problems and gusty situation during
the process of innovation in education, which need to be adjusted in time to
make it right. Alignment is strongly necessary of this process.
4. Practices and execute
Innovation should practice and execute in real
situation. During the execute,problems
would be found out and waited for solve.

5. Promotion
Once innovation has been confirmed to be doable. It
should be promoted to other teachers. Make sure the innovation be acknowledged
by others and get the feedback form others.
6. Administration
Does the school support innovation? How many classes teachers need to prepare and
have for one week. What's the prize for innovation? If the administration didn't support the
innovation, that would be difficult for teachers to innovate.
7. Learning theories and pedagogy
Innovation in education should based on the advance pedagogy and learning theories. It
should also follow the basic rule and steps of learning design. Advanced learning
theories like constructivsm ,social learning theories ,humanism and some theories like that
have proved to be helpful for students learning. It should also be considered in the design
of innovation in education.
8. Experience of innovation
Experience of innovation can provide many example for the next innovation, they can
learn from the previous experience and get an improvement next time.
Correspond to the above reasons for success , the failure reasons of innovation in education should be:
1. Haven't a sufficient analysis to the learners , environment , culture and feasibility.
2. There are not enough support from the school ,government and other scholars.
3. Lack of a control and emergency mechanism for handling the problems show up during the process of innovation.
4. The teachers of the innovation team haven't prepared enough and practiced and executed the innovation in an authentic teaching class. That would make the innovation unconvincing.
5. The innovation doesn't be acknowledged by teachers and other scholars.

According to the case above. The case is a interdisciplinary project for primary 6 students, which encourage them to development their plan skills,collaborative skills and other dimensions ability.
In this project, I think its success depend on the following points:
1.Multiple Intelligences Theories
It's a multiple disciplinary project which refer to General Studies , Mathematics and Chinese. It's aim at develop student's multiple ability of various dimension,which is based on the multiple Intelligences Theories.
2.Technology intergraded in learning
In this case, technology is emphasized for students analyzing data, collecting document and presentation. ICT is an essential tool for innovation in education that it support both students' learning and teachers' teaching.
3. ICT and innovation culture of the school
In this case, the school had the experience of carrying out ICT innovation. It's correspond with Government initiative. The school has the innovation and collaborative culture ,which help them won a reputation for being an innovative school . The experience and culture is the key point for their success.
4. Infrastructure
The school has basic ICT infrastructure ,which required for the innovation. That the fundamental condition for promoting innovation.
